Polyphenols

Polyphenols are plant secondary metabolites with often impressive health benefits and therapeutic potential.
Most are potent antioxidants and their biological activity ranges from anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anticancer, to organ-protective properties and lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
With potential applications across high-value sectors such as pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and dietary supplements, phytomedicines, herbal extracts, and cosmetics, low purity and high prices prevent their wide use.
Employing green and efficient extraction technologies and state of the art separation techniques to recover and purify polyphenols from food-processing by-product streams, we can drive down the cost of high quality and purity products, enabling their adoption across all industries.
